Track for Phalgham to Naranaag:Duration 18 Nights 19Days

01st Day:Srinagar –phalgham-Aru:

90 kms drive to Phalgham with picnic lunch stopping enroute to see the temple ruins of Awantipora.Later 7 miles or 11 kms trekking to an altitude of 8700 feet or 2713 meters on an almost leveled road along the bank of river Lider. Camp before the village near the stream


02nd Day:Aru –Lidderwhat:

Five hours trek to an altitude of 3112mts .of 10,000 ft. through lovely meadows and Doodar forest where you would also meet the Gujjar nomad Camp beyond Lidderwhat.

03rd Day:Lidderwhat- Dodsar Camp:

Six hours trek through an open valley to by passing Satlanjan site, crossing a few streams. You continue trekking to Dodsar camp through a boulder stream valley. Mt. Kolahoi in sight.Advise: follow trial and not stray into the moraine. The camp site is 700ft below Dodsar lake across a stream which have to be forded. It is less chills at camp site than on the lake side proper. Afternoon visit Kolhoi Glacier.

04th Day:Dodsar camp/Dodsar Kolhoi:

Early morning after breakfast visit kolhoi Glacier. Go as far as the snout of the massive Glacier. Lunch at camp. Afternoon visit Dodsar Lake 12,000ft

05th Day: Kolhoi –LidderwhatSix hours return trek to Lidderwhat. Camp at lidderwhat proper. Camp site frequented by all sorts of travelers

06th Day:Lidderwhat- sekiwas:

Six hours uphill trek to 11200 ft. or 3112 passing through the shepherd settlements. Stream to be crossed and camp on the other side of sekhiwas below.

07th Day:Sekiwas:

Free day at Sekhiwas. Opportunity to visit Tarsar lake , a beautiful lake in between two mountains with Trout Fish. Possibility of fishing against special permits.

08th Day:Sekiwas- Sonmus:

Seven hours trek across Sonmus pass (instead of Yemher) 13,000 ft. pass snow- bound but fairly level as compared to yemer pass which is a vertical climb down and impossible because of Landslides for last few years.

09th Day:Sonmus- Sumbal-Sonmarg:

Six hours pleasant walk through a dense forest to Sumbal. A village on Srinagar/ Leh road. Drive to Sonmarg for next Camp.

10th Day:Sonmarg:

Free day or visit to Thajiwas Glacier…

11th Day:Sonmarg –Nichinai:

After breakfast start Eight\ Nine hours trek to Nichinai camp.A steep slimb up a birch- covered slope and later along Nichinal Nalla to an altitude of 11,500 ft. You are above treeline now. Could spot Ermine, stoats and marmots..

12th Day:Nichinal- Vishansar:

Leave after breakfast for Vishensar valley 12063 ft. via Nichinal pass 13500 ft. It is a gradual ascent through the narrow valley to the top, snow bound upto August. Descent into the Vishener valley which abounds in all sorts of alpine flowers. The Lake is stocked with Rainbow and brown trout.

13th Day: Vishansar:

Day free for fishing or exploring the surroundings. Rich in flora.

Warning: Please don’t stray down more than 3 Kms along Krishansar River. Ceasefire line close by.

14th day: Vishansar- Gadsar:

From Vishansar valley start after breakfast for Gardsar Lake. A steep climb 400 Ft. to Vishansar Lake 12500 Ft. and further steep ascent Beshensar pass 13750 ft. and descend over snow or shale to the otherside. In view are two more smaller lakes, and reach Gardsar. Lunch en route. A spectadular view of Nanga Parbat (26624 Ft) from a ridge 200 mts above the pass.

15th Day: Gardsar- Mangandob:

Leave after breakfast,crossing a stream along a zigzag path up the flowery, steep mountain slope. You come across water spourts and places where whole streams vanish into lime- clay cravesses. Camp at Mangandob.

16th Day: Mangandob-Gangabal:

500ft. Descent from Magandob and then ascent about Tsur-bar pass, 14,500ft. The pass commands a magnificient view of the mighty HERMUKH 16870ft. and of the 3 beautiful Lakes namely NUNDKUL, GANGABAL and Kausar. A steep descent down 1600ft. reaches you to Gangabal Lake. Lunch en-route.

17th Day: Gangabal:

Full day for fishing or exploring environs Gangabal Lake. Gangabal Lake is the 5th largest lake in Kashmir and is full of brown and snow trout and anglers paradise.

18th Day: Gangabal-Naranag:

Start early for a 4500 ft. descent to Wangath Valley. Descent through coniferious forests 8th century ruins at Naranag.

Overnite camp at Naranag.

19th Day: Naranag-Srinagar:

After breakfast 2 hours drive to Srinagar through paddy fields, up on arrival in Srinagar transfer to houseboat.

Kashmir Gangabal Trek

Kashmir Gangabal Trek:Duration 6 Nights 7 Days

Day 01: Srinagar- Thajiwas Glacier 84Kms:

Leave Srinagar by cars/coach and drive through picturesque village and arrive Sonmarg. Three kilometers walk to glacier. Camp at the footy of the Glacier which is 3,000 Mtrs. Overnight in Alpine Hut/ tents.

Day 02: Thajiwas Glacier- Nichnai 13 Kms:

Start trekking steep ascending uupto Shokhdori where from you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Glaciers and Sonmarg descend towards nichnai (Shephards valley). Overnite in tents.

Day 03: Nichnai- Vishnasar- Krishansar Lake 15 Kms:

Leaving in the morning and immediately start ascending to Nichnai pass ( 13579 Ft) then descend towards Vishnasar and Krishnasar Lake 5/6 hours walking through the beautiful natural garden with many different wild flowers and crossing a stream at the end. Overnite in tents. 

Day 04: Krishansar- gadsar 16 kms: Full day trek 6/7 hours walk towards Gadsar known as Botanist paradise steep ascending uto Krishansar Pass which is 4080 mtrs. Overnight in tents. 

Day 05: Gadsar-Gangabal Lake 19 kms: Leaving Gadsar and easy ascending upto poshpatri (The Valley Of Flowers) than a gradual walking upto Megandub. From here steep and difficult trek to zagibal peak 4180 mtrs. This is the highest and tiring pass on this trek where you can see beautiful view of the Gangabal lakes and Harmukh peak. Overnight in tents.

Day 06: Gangabal:

Day for leisure or Rainbow Trout Fishing at Gangabal lakes or full day visit to Lul Gul pass where from you can see beautiful view of Nanga Parbat. Overnite in tents. 

Day 07: Gangabal- Naranag-srinagar:

Leaving Gangabal on the way see Trunkol too small Gypsies villages than a steep descend towards Naranag. At Naranag visit Buddhist monastery. It is said that 3rd world conference of Buddhist was held some where around this place. Leave by car/ coach to srinagar 2 hours drive. Tour ends here…
