Kashmir is an important tourist destination of India and the main source of income of the place depends on its tourism industry. Vaishno Devi The old monasteries and quaint little hamlets located in the mountainous region of Leh are among the highlights of tourism in Kashmir. Leh Palace, Shey Palace, Stok Palace, monasteries of Phiyang, Hemis, Thiksey, Likir, Spituk, Alchi, Lakes of Pangong and Tso-moriri have a significant place among the tourist attractions in Kashmir. However the journey to these places is strenuous but rewarding in ways more than one.
